There are so may reasons to be Proudly South African.

Some are so "day-to-day normal" that we often forget how much we have in this wonderful land.

Let me mention a few. I challenge our readers to add some more!

• Each one of us, who is reading this page, woke up this morning with the gift of Life.
• Each one of us woke up Free. Free to make choices. Free to make decisions and Free to vote, or not, come election time.
• Each one of us woke up in a country with a marvelous climate. We have year round swimming weather, winter snow for skiing in the mountains, dune racing in our deserts, kayaking in our rivers, lakes and oceans, perfect game viewing weather in our world famous reserves, barbecue weather, astrological viewing areas and weather.
• We have woken up in a country of wonderful opportunity. A country with challenges to resolve. A country of limitless promise.
• We have a government representative of the people.
• All people have an opportunity to make something of their lives. Sometimes it means that they will have to think differently, or change what they have always done.
• We have freedom of speech. A freedom that is fast being eroded in other areas of the world.
• We have incredible wild life and a wonderfully open country.
• We have amazing cultures and languages.
• We have stunningly interesting people and traditions.
• We have multiple religions and beliefs. We are so rich in our humanity.
• We have the foundations of an incredibly strong economy in place and the foundations for human respect are being laid.
• We have 4 Nobel peace prize winners.
• We have our friends and our families.

And most importantly, we have you.
